Sunshine and Merriment by Xee Momma

I watched Camp Rock on Disney Channel last Sunday. It was ok, nothing monumental, at least for me. But it was a welcome entertainment since I had been miserable the entire day because of darned colds. Besides, the movie was about music, so I wanted to see how it would go.

The plot was ok, and the actors portrayed their characters fairly well. But I haven’t found anything to “ooh and ahhh” about. For some reason, having the Jonas Brothers in the movie didn’t even do it for me. I guess I’m just not into them.

The songs featured, however, are very very good. The last two songs (with the exception of the group production number) performed at the Final Jam was great. The best performance during Final Jam, at least to me, was Jasmine Richards’, the one who played Margaret “Penny” Dupree. You know, the Tess Tyler backup girl? Well, she was awesome.

Why didn’t I say the best performance was Demi Lovato’s, the lead girl? Well, she does have a great voice and the song was touching, not to mention she’s very pretty, but… she was too energetic for her own good. She moved too much during her performance. Too many unnecessary movements.
