WordCamp Philippines 2008

I’m joining WordCamp Philippines!

I was thrilled when I found out that there will be a WordCamp that I can actually attend! I’ve been using WordPress ever since it first came out. Remember b2? When its development was stopped I immediately switched to WordPress. That was 2003. After five years and several domain names, I’m still with WordPress.

I’m no developer and neither am I a big name on the blogosphere. I just love to blog and I love having WordPress as a platform.

I make my own themes. I am brave enough to ocassionally tweak a plugin or two around here. What I use and implement on my blog, I learned by myself - XHTML, CSS, PHP. I learned all these with the help of the internet and the WordPres Codex. I love making my own WP themes and I am actually planning to share a few themes for personal bloggers to use. So when I browsed the WordCamp Philippines website and found out that among the considered topics for plenary sessions are CSS and Designing WP Themes, I know I just have to attend.

It would also be nice meeting more bloggers and WordPress enthusiasts like myself. I know there a lot to be learned in the sessions, but I am sure there is a gold mine of ideas right there within the bloggers themselves.

And of course, I am just dying to see Matt Mullenweg in person. <333 !

WordCamp Philippines 2008 will be held on September 6th 2008 at Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater, College of Saint Benilde and is organized by Mindanao Bloggers.

Participation in WordCamp Philippines 2008 is free of charge. There is, however, a tiny bit of requirement during registration. It’s not much work, really, considering you will only need to write a blog post in lieu of a fee. Further details are given after registration. So what are you waiting for? Register here.
