Over at Aileen Apolo’s Plurk page is this major chikahan thread about Kahit Isang Saglit, dubbed as the first Asianovela, which just aired its pilot episode.
Meikah, another Plurk buddy, chimed in that there was one Asianovela produced by GMA 7 before this one. Of course I joined in the conversation, because I’ve watched a few episodes of that said series, I just couldn’t remember the title and the lead actor.
Thank goodness for yayas, they know so much about afternoon soaps. After a few questions thrown at yaya, I found out that it was Alfred Vargas who starred in that soap, which was entitled Muli.
So how do we reconcile this? Which is the REAL First Asianovela?
After some sleuthing around in Wikipedia, I found out that Kahit Isang Saglit “will mark the very first Asianovela production of 2 Asian Countries” - The Philippine’s ABS-CBN and Malaysia’s Double Vision.
The Wikipedia article on Muli only has GMA 7 as its producer and it doesn’t say if the series was aired in other Asian countries besides the Philippines.
So there you have it, clear as broad daylight.
Kahit Isang Saglit is the Asianovela produced by outfits from two Asian countries and being aired in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
Muli, on the other hand, is a local production by GMA, but still stars celebrities from other Asian countries.
So I guess Kahit Isang Saglit IS the first Asianovela.
But who cares anyway?
What amazed me tonight was finding out that Carmen Soo, Jericho Rosales’ leading lady in the series, is already 30. And I look older than she is and I’m only 24. Hmph. No fair.

what? she’s 30! oh-em-gee!
Hey hey dont feel bad hot momma, she’s an actress ofcourse she needs to look good
Can’t wait to see the 2nd episode tonight. woots! apir! kapamilya

yes GMA had that show MULI but i heard it only lasted for a week or before that, then they cancelled it… i read it somewhere… that’s why if you search for it you won’t find anything about it because it was a flop…
kahit isang saglit rules.
