I was bloghopping a while ago and came across Irish’s post about an earthquake coming to hit the Philippines on the 18th of July. According to her entry, she received an email warning everyone of this earthquake.

It got me thinking whether this have something to do with the “earthquakes” I’ve been feeling these past couple of days. I haven’t asked anyone about the ones from the past few days, I thought I was just “feeling” things (dumb blonde moment, I know, but it’s what it is haha). This morning, I felt the ground shake and immediately blurted “parang lumilindol” while I was on Skype with Anson. We didn’t give it further attention as I’ve been feeling dizzy since last night. So I still didn’t think much of it.

So here’s the biggest dumb blond moment. I approached our nanny just now and asked, “may nararamdaman ka ba lindol nitong mga nakaraan?” (have you been feeling the ground shake lately?)

And she looked at me as if she haven’t seen me before and said, quite condescendingly, “oo kaya, wala ka ba nararamdaman?” (yeah, don’t you feel anything?). Hahaha.

Dumb blonde moments aside, I visited the links from Irish’s post that lead me to view the details of the earthquakes.

07 08 2008 Earthquake Details

Ok. Time check. The earthquake was at 9:41:56 AM, Philippine Time.

I looked back into my Skype archives and found…

No earthquake can stop me from chatting

…this chat snippet. This means that I wasn’t just feeling dizzy. There was an earthquake.

So I’m not about to discard the earthquakes these past few days. I have not received any sort of email like Irish did, and I’m not about to start getting paranoid. But it wouldn’t hurt to be careful.

It wouldn’t hurt to try toning down the magnitude of my dumb blonde moments, too.

And just so you know, I rarely watch the news, so… if these were earlier reported… well colour me dumb.
