I got my prizes that I won at the Pond’s 7-day Beauty Blog last Friday and they’re all so awesome!
I’m so in love with the Pond’s Age Miracle line and I’m so happy to get another gift set! Remember last July when I won a set from one of the games during the Tate of Beauty party? Well, I got another one as part of my prizes.
Then I got PHP 4,000 worth of Gift Certificates from SM and a Taste Asia Cash Card loaded with PHP 1,000. Yay for groceries! I’m thinking of lining up a treat for my friend at Taste Asia soon, too!
The bestest prize ever, is my new baby - a black 8gb iPhone 3G! Not that I’ve always wanted an iPhone, but hey it is a cool toy and owning one feels really great. BUT! There are some things about the iPhone that I’m having still half-hearted about it. I’m not so in love with you yet, iPhone! Make me.
I’m glad to have finally met Abbie, the grand prize winner, as well as the Maricon, Baby and Nel and the rest of the people from Unilever who were at the awarding. It was really nice meeting you all. It was a great lunch gathering - good food and good company.
Thank you Pond’s and Unilever for these goodies! More power to you and to your Pond’s Age Miracle line.
Early yesterday evening, Marlene (our nanny) told me that someone from the Home Owner’s Association informed her that there would be a blackout from 11pm to 7am. She wasn’t told why, but at least we know what was coming and we could be prepared.
So we charged all the emergency lamps (we have 4 of them) and all the cellphones (we have 5, between myself and the helpers). I made sure the helpers have enough cellphone credits, too, just in case. We got extra batteries for flashlights in case the emergency lamps would decide to be a bitch.
I charged my old beat-up HP Jornada and loaded it with reading materials. I got my good old iPod ready and took out the portable speakers out of the cabinet as well. I loaded the iPod with lullabies, because I was so sure Alex would wake up in the middle of the night because of the merciless heat and humidity.
It’s too bad that we do not have battery-operated fans, but at least we do have fans. I just had to exercise my hand and arms for a bit last night. Sobrang good luck na lang sa pagpapaypay!
So the blackout did come at 11pm. As usual, I got depressed with the gloomy state the house was in. I read a bit but I just couldn’t focus because of the darned heat. And, true to my prediction, Alex did wake up a little past midnight and started crying. Super kapagod magpaypay noh. But I’d rather get tired fanning him than see him have a hard time sleeping and crying and disturbing everyone else’s peace.
It’s a good thing he decided to be up all night (didn’t sleep until morning light kicked in, around 6am), so I had someone to pester when I feel like being the annoying person that I am.
So with tired arms and despite the gloom, we all made it through the 8-hour blackout. I was actually able to sleep for a total of 2 hours. I’m tired, but I have things to do today so… I’ll catch up with sleep later. Maybe take a nap in the afternoon with Alex. Or sleep earlier tonight.
This past week has been one big chaos. But at least it has been a productive chaos.
I had several writing projects in the past week and the information overload can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when the topics you are covering are on different ends of the spectrum. I did enjoy writing the articles but sometimes I get to a point where I just read too much. Nevertheless, I think I did well in that aspect.
One thing I squeezed in during the week was giving this blog a lift - a makeover. I ditched the black and gone girly with my colour scheme. I intend to write a post about the major overhaul the blog went through later in the day or tomorrow, at the latest.
Of course in between my online activities was Plurk. I’m so addicted to it that before the week was out, I reached 50 karma points! Go me!
Friday night had me partying at Buhay Coke Party 2 at Taste Asia, where the winners of the Buhay Coke Video Blog Contest were announced. Warm congratulations to Azrael, Komikero (I love his entry most! It’s the real thing…) and CokskiBlue for winning the cool, cool prizes!
Anyway, I went with the usualsuspects. It was nice seeing my favoritebloggersagain. And I was able to chat a bit with Ms Aileen, who’s really nice, warm and friendly (love the “G”!)
Yesterday and this morning were spent working, even though I am not feeling well. Ayokong sanayin ang sarili kakahiga dahil lang masama ang pakiramdam. Then I entertained a visit from an aunt around lunch time, which lifted my spirits up.
This afternoon I’ll be bloghopping and will probably just take it easy and rest a bit. Because tomorrow, I’ll whip my own ass again and write. Because that’s what I do, that is.
I went out the other day with Alex his godmother, my best friend Valerie. We went grocery shopping first then when we were at SLEX on the way home, we decided to stop by Petron and eat at Pancake House. After the meal, Val wanted to go to Starbucks just beside the restaurant to buy something for her mom, so off we went and had some dessert there.
Here’s Alex eating Caramel Panna Cota at Starbucks. He kept saying “Mmmmm!” almost non-stop.
